Provenance |
Purchased from the Hoosier Salon in 1949. The artist wrote, "I am very much pleased to be represented in your collection and trust that my little painting will behave itself properly in the good company it will be in." Born in Greencastle, he studied in St. Louis and later made his home in Chicago where he attended the Art Institute. He made many sketching trips to Brown County and later returned to make it his permanent home and studio. A charter member of the Brown County Art Guild and winning many national awards, he is represented by paintings in Terre Haute, Chicago, New Orleans, San Antonio and in many private collections. |
