Purchased as part of the British watercolors collection 1966 / 67, in memory of Gloria Dougherty, Dorothy Logan, and Lilian Ross. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1797 on. Heaphy was appointed portrait painter to the Prince of Wales, and became the first president of the Society of British Artists in 1824. |
