The wistful wonderment of "Mother and Child" was inspired by a commercial assignment for an editorial article ... motivated the artist to make the larger illustration just for the sake of drawing ... not only was it selected by the Tri Kappa Selection Committee but it was awarded a Jury Prize for Graphic Painting, a classification created especially for this work of art ... Native of Fort Wayne... studied at the Fort Wayne Art School, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and at the Art Students League of New York ... l959 was his first year as an exhibitor at the Hoosier Salon.
